The Cape and Islands Workforce Investment Board (WIB) today announced the addition of 6 new board members who will begin their work as the agency kicks off its new program year.

Christopher Richards, Board Chairman and Vice President of Commercial Lending at Cape Cod Five, said that “We are delighted to be able to add such a diverse group of community leaders to our Board”.

County Commissioner Sheila Lyons, who is the Chief Elected Official and appointing authority for the WIB said “The work that is accomplished by the Workforce Investment Board is important to the economy of the region, we are fortunate to have such a large number of community minded individuals willing to lend their expertise to the WIB”.

New Board members:

            Steven Colarusso – Administrator, Pavillion Rehab & Skilled Nursing Facility

            John Cox – President, Cape Cod Community College

            Bob Dutch – Superintendent, Upper Cape Regional Technical School

            Melinda Gallant – Property Manager, South Cape Village

            Kevin McGinnes – Director of Human Resources, IFAW

            Paul Niedzwiecki – Executive Director, Cape Cod Commission

Officers for the WIB this year are:

            Chair – Christopher Richards, Cape Cod 5

            Vice-Chair – Sally Bowles, Catania Hospitality Group

            Treasurer – David Sampson, Property Management and Construction

            Clerk – Bev Horan – Infor

The first meeting of the new program year for the WIB took place Tuesday, September 25th at 8 AM at Career Opportunities, North Street, Hyannis.

The Cape and Islands Workforce Investment is one of over 600 Workforce Boards in the U.S., our mission is to provide leadership for workforce development activities through private and public sector partnerships. There is a total of 38 board members of the WIB.
